The case where embattled Baringo speaker William Kamket has moved to court challenging his ouster from office following a petition from the public will continue on June 15, 2015.
This is after his lawyer Benard Ng'etich requested the court for more time to respond to submissions made yesterday by the Clerk to the county Assembly's legal representative.
The lawyer, Yego Zephania orally submitted that the suspended speaker had sued the wrong entity, been the clerk to the County Assembly.
He argued that, the employment and Labour court does not have the jurisdiction of determining the matter as the clerk to the County Assembly is not the employer of the embattled speaker.
According to him, the clerk was only following laid down mandate by advertising and processing application to fill the then vacant position.
In March the County Assembly of Baringo purportedly acting on recommendations by an Ad-hoc committee removed the ‘ex-parte’ applicant as the speaker.
The speaker had been impeached after the house adopted a report tabled by the residents of Arabal Location.
Judge Radido reinstated him after the speaker challenged the move at an Employment and Labour court in Nakuru.
The matter is still pending determination. Kamket has also faces criminal proceedings against him in an Eldoret case which is pending judgement on May 26, 2015.
