Political analyst Barrack Muluka has said that the Jubilee government will still get its share of votes from the Mount Kenya region come 2017 elections without any effect of the current graft cases.
According to Muluka, the various corruption cases taunting Jubilee at the moment will do little to change the perception of the voters from Jubilee party's strongholds and come 2017 where they will still get the required votes.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen television on Sunday, Muluka said the graft cases will bear no impact and that Jubilee may still be on the course to another victory come 2017.
"The corruption cases against Jubilee at the moment will have no major impact to the Jubilee party come 2017 election. The party has strong support from its major strongholds in the Mount Kenya region and the people will vote for the party due to their alignment to the party leaders. Even if the government continued to witness more graft cases, the people from these areas will still vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto," said Muluka.
He also said that the opposition will get the same share of support from the Cord coalition strongholds due to the alignment of the people to the various party officials in the coalition.
According to Muluka, the previous voting patterns where one votes because of the political party with which their leaders is associated will still be of major significance in the 2017 elections.
