Speaking on Wednesday in Kangundo town while addressing residents, Kangundo Sub-county Commissioner Samuel Njora cautioned the club owners situated near schools that in two weeks, those still operating will have their licenses revoked.

“Bars situated near schools are compromising the students and most operators sell alcohol to the underage students illegally. The behaviours of drunkards after they are drunk are not a show of good morals to the young people in schools,” said Njora.

He cited that a lot of noise emitted from clubs distracts studies in the schools

The County Commissioner further stated together with the office of the area OCPD Wilson Wako, they will ensure that illegal alcohol will not compromise the quality of education.

Njora also called upon the area residents together with Nyumba Kumi initiative to come together and report to the police the illegal sellers of liquor in Matungulu and Kangundo areas, in a move to save the young people.

“The young people have dropped out of schools because of alcohol addiction that is caused by easy access of ‘chang’aa and other home made illegal alcohol. If we unite and expose those brewing such we will improve education in our area,” said Njora.
