Kiambu owners have been ordered to return national identity cards to respective owners with immediate effect.
Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery has said that the IDs should be given back to owners in order to facilitate the voter registration exercise in the region.
This is after reports emerged that bar owners resorted to withholding identification cards of revelers who failed to pay for their drinks.
Nkaissery was speaking in Thika on Saturday after opening new divisional headquarters.
The CS further ordered all chief across the country to ensure processed ID cards are delivered to their respective owners.
