[Photo/Elvanis Ronoh]Uasin Gishu Alcoholic Drinks and Control Board Director Silas Boit has put on notice bar owners selling liquor without licenses. He said they risk their businesses being closed down and their licenses confiscated."We will not allow any bar owner to operate without license since they are putting their customers in danger. We will not get tired on conducting operations to weed out rogue operators," he said in his office, Saturday."We want to ensure that there is no sale of illegal liquor in the county," he added. He reiterated that bars and entertainment joints should adhere to the 'Mututho laws'.He, however, called upon the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) to help the county on the fight against substandard alcohol."KEBS should ensure that all alcohol brands in  the market are tested and certified  for human consumption," noted Boit.Boit warned bars and entertainment  joints against selling alcohol to minors."The law is very clear that alcohol should not be sold to persons below the age of 18 years, anyone found going against it will face the full force of the law," he added.
