A section of residents of Barut area in Nakuru West sub-county has decried the poor state of roads in the area.
Speaking to this writer on Monday afternoon, the residents said it was shameful to have the poor infrastructure in the area despite the funds released by the government.
"We know there are funds which are always released for development but when you look around our roads are in a poor state,"said one of the residents.
Their sentiments were echoed by Masese Kemunche from Centre for Enhancing Democracy and Good Governance CEDGG.
According to Masese, a civil society member in Nakuru, a lot of public funds are being wasted by leaders.
He challenged the Nakuru West sub-county leadership to think of the infrastructure especially the bridge connecting Nakuru and Barut.
