According to the 22 year old Uganda-Cranes left back, his move was not only fueled by the desire to try his skills in a different league and probably get his way into the European arena, but also the higher pay offered by the Singida.

''I would like to try my skills in another league which in this case is the Tanzanian league hence my decision to move. However,i would be lying by saying that that's the only reason because the team is offering a better pay and football, just like any other profession is money based, therefore, money has also influenced my decision to join Singida,'' Batambuze told NTV reporters during a training session Monday.

Batambuze who will be joining his team at the end of the season however said that he has enjoyed his stay in Kenya thanking Kenyans and his teammates for their support.

''My stay at Tusker and in Kenya has been very good.Kenyans have been supportive to me and am very grateful for that,'' said the Jinja-born Batambuze who joined the team from Western Stima.

The talented player was among the squad that helped the brewers win the KPL tittle last season and hopes to do the same in Tanzania.
