Jackline Mwende, the Machakos woman whose hands were chopped off by her husband, has on Monday afternoon flown to South Korea to be fitted with myoelectric prostheses courtesy of LG electronics.
27-year old Mwende flew out of the country in the afternoon of Monday after LG Electronics committing to cover her surgery and medical expenses.The company will also cater for her transport to and from hospital.
Jackline Mwende suffered under the hands of her husband, John Ngila who chopped off her two forelimbs and hacked her head with a machete following the fact that she had not fallen pregnant in seven years of marriage.
Be it as it may, the woman who was the talk of Machakos county has expressed her dismay following reports from doctors that it was Ngila and not her, who was infertile.
Mwende has however received tremendous support from all around with Machakos county government being on the forefront followed by women's rights activists.
