Kisumu governor has expressed confidence that the ODM party primaries will be conducted in a free, fair manner, to see him win.
Jack Ranguma seeks the party's ticket for a re-election, in the August 8, general elections.
Area senator Prof Anyang' Nyong'o who is also a member of the Raila Odinga-led party, has vowed to unseat Ranguma.
Nyong'o is also optimistic of getting the ODM ticket, during nominations, slated to kick off April.
Ranguma maintained the nominations should be free and fair, to stop voter apathy.
"I am sure that this time round, nominations in ODM will be free and fair, because we want to stop voter apathy. In fact I have information, that votes will be counted where they are cast, just like in the national elections. This will avoid rigging,'' said Ranguma.
Speaking after a Redeemed Church service in the county, the ODM governor further said: "So people should come out and nominate Ranguma, to go and defend his seat now for a second time. I will be very grateful, the way I have been, for the people of Kisumu.''
