[Photo: Peter Munya]Meru governor Peter Munya has officially launched his re-election bid for a second and last term in office.The Party of National Unity (PNU) leader is seeking to retain his seat on a PNU ticket. During the launch, Munya who declined to join President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, was joined by PNU candidates for various positions in the county as they expounded vision for the county in the next five years. He also presented his scorecard for the last four years as a governor of the central Kenya county, Friday. "I am humbled by the enthusiasm and support as we embark on this journey of making Meru the County on the rise and more so on my 2022 presidential ambitions," said Munya, flanked by his running mate.He later addressed a successful rally at Nkubu Shabaha stadium in Imenti South. Accompanied by PNU Party candidates from the county, Munya outlined his party's manifesto and vision for Meru County. "I'm gladdened by the warm welcome, immense support for my re-election and my presidential ambitions of 2022."
