Uncertainty looms in ODM and the newly formed Jubilee Party after it emerged that both parties have booked the same venue for a rally on the same day.
Orange Democratic Movement had booked Huruma grounds in Mathare, Nairobi for a rally on Sunday September 18th 2016 while at the same time area MP Stephen Kariuki also planning a rally at the same venue.
Copies of letters shared online shows that ODM had booked the venue.
“This is to inform your good office of my intention to visit Nairobi City County for a delegates’ forum and a series of roadshows culmination in a public rally in Mathare Constituency on Sunday September 18th 2016,” reads a section of a letter written by Mombasa Governor Joho and addressed to the City County
However, a second letter appears to show that Mathare legislator Stephen Kariuki had also booked the venue for a planned development project on the same day.
“The purpose of this letter is to inform your office of a planned development project inspection tour and culminating in a mass civic education rally in our beloved Mathare Constituency on Sunday 18th September 2016,” reads part of the letter
Both Kidero and Kariuki insist that the respective planned meetings will still go on as planned
