Speaking on Wednesday when they held peaceful demonstrations to protest the killing of their colleague Willie Kimani, his clients and drivers, the members said serious reforms are necessary for the police sector.

They protested towards the office of the Kisii county police commander where they presented their petition calling for the closure of all cells which are not gazetted by the Government.

Led by Chairman Denis Nyatundo, Samuel Ochilo Homa Bay speaker and his Kisii counterpart Kerosi Ondieki who are members of LSK Nyanza Chapter they condemned the extrajudicial killings urging the Inspector of Police to make sure that justice is done.

Mr Samuel Ochilo urged the Police to change their tactic from being a police force into a service.

“We don’t want to live in the old constitutions we want the police to read the new constitution and change from Police force to police service,” Ochilo said.

Kisii County Police Commander Agnes Mudambi who received the petition assured them of their security in a bid to end extrajudicial killings.

“In Kisii County, the police are always friendly and we will continue ensuring that security is maintained,” said Mudambi.
