Naivasha’s Lake View Member of County Assembly Simon Wanyoike has urged youths in the area to shun crime.
Speaking at Kihoto grounds in Naivasha, the MCA asked young people to be ambassadors of development and peace.
He raised worries over the high number of young people joining criminal groups, saying the situation is a threat to development.
“Young people should shun crime and instead work with the government to foster development,” said the MCA.

Meanwhile, the MCA has warned the opposition against the planned mass action over the proposed changes to the security law adding that calling for mass action would not help the situation and that the opposition should instead seek dialogue through the approved channels.
He asked MPs and leaders affiliated to the opposition to use Parliament to address their concerns over the proposed security bill amendments.
Wanyoike on the same not asked the government to boost security across the country to ensure safety of Kenyans.
