Nakuru youths have been challenged to be ambassadors of peace and help unite the locals in the region.
County senator James Mungai while speaking at Naivasha town on Friday said youth are leaders of tomorrow and must start to practice such leadership.
He said that for a long time youths have been used as weapons and catalysts of violence.
“Our youths should shun leaders especially politicians who treat them as weapons of violence,” said Mungai.
The senator said the future of the county depends on the young people. He urged the county government to put in place measures that will empower the youth socio-economically.
Senator Mungai also asked the government to address the issue of unemployment. He noted that many youths remain unemployed yet some have good academic papers.
The senator said the county government must involve the youth in development activities as a remedy to fighting unemployment.
