Speaking during the thanksgivings ceremony ahead of the institution’s 2nd graduation ceremony on Friday 19, Prof. John Akama challenged students to be creative and apply theoretical and practical knowledge taught in class in the real world.

“You should translate the knowledge you gain from university to practice. As students, come up with projects aiming at solving real life problems that can be supported by the institution,” he said.

He said the current economic situation could not allow all graduates to be employed either in the private or public sector given the persistent deterioration of global economy.

Akama said many university students tend to avoid the practical approach of life hoping things will be easy.

“We have money that carter for empirical researches which many of you are reluctant to utilise. If you will not open your minds then I honestly think you shouldn’t be in university in the first place. Take advantage of these massive opportunities,” he said.

He requested the government to aid recently accredited institutions of higher learning for facilitate learning activities by improving infrastructure.
