University graduates across the country have now been challenged to ensure that they put in strategies of creating their own employment instead of fully relying on job hunting.

According to Kisii University Chancellor, Prof. Godfrey Muriuki currently the country has more graduates than jobs and there is a need for the fresh graduates to ensure that they venture into entrepreneurship and create more job opportunities as jobs are getting scarce day by day.

Speaking during Kisii University's graduation ceremony on Friday the Chancellor urged graduates to utilize the skills they've been learning during their campus days and they will be successful in life.

"Entrepreneurs have proved to have been creating more employment opportunities in Kenya and, therefore, I would urge all graduates to ensure that they work towards creating jobs instead of hunting," said Muriuki

His sentiments were backed by Education CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i who also through his speech insisted on job creation by new graduates.
