Garissa senator Yusuf Haji wants NASA to be ready to accept the judgment the Supreme Court will make in a case the opposition has filed challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

The Jubilee senator wants NASA leader Raila Odinga to be ready for the outcome especially if the court upholds President Kenyatta’s win.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Monday, Haji said that  Raila and NASA could end up not accepting the court ruling in case their petition is thrown out.

“From the way he (Raila) is talking, it seems that he is not ready to accept the court ruling if he loses the petition,” he said as quoted by the People Daily.

The Jubilee senator criticized the opposition, saying Raila moved  to court  knowing that he lost fairly  in the recently concluded general election.

The Garissa senator said that NASA wants to derail the country’s development agenda through court battle.

He said that it clear that Uhuru won fairly adding that NASA is still living in denial. Haji said that Jubilee will accept the outcome of the ruling on the presidential petition whichever way it goes.

He said that there is nothing to scare President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the hearing and judgment on the petition, saying that the president won fairly.

NASA has filed a petition in Supreme Court challenging Uhuru’s re-election. The opposition filed the petition on Friday last week and has already served respondents in the case.

NASA leader Raila Odinga has been quoted saying that he will no give up or allow his much earned and deserved victory to be taken away.

The Supreme Court led by chief Justice David Maraga has 14 days to hear and make a judgment on the petition.
