Kisumu youths have been asked to behave responsibly during this festive season.

The county’s education Executive Jenifer Kere requested parents to uphold discipline and create time to sensitise youths on the benefits of education and why it is wise to shun irresponsible  behaviour.

Speaking at the Kisumu Social Hall during a forum on youths' responsible behavior on Thursday, Kere said that youths need to shun idleness, negative peer influence and irresponsible sexual behaviour.

“We need to avoid acts that would deter our growth which would reduce high prevalence in education yet education is a key avenue,” said Kere.

Nominated MCA Fanda Salim also challenged youths to act responsibly as this would see them prosper in their education.

“Responsible behaviour is a key aspect to entire growth, especially in education. Through good role models, responsible behaviour would be enhanced,” said Kere.

Migosi ward representative Paul Achayo also asked youths use this festive season responsibly and not to indulge in acts that would ruin them.
