According to Sudi, this is not the right time for the country to hold a referendum given the fact that it is barely a year since a general election was held.

Addressing the press in Eldoret town on Monday, Sudi said the opposition should allow the government and other elected leaders to focus on more pressing issues affecting mwananchi.

“We did politics the whole of 2017 and we have not even finished one year since Kenyans went to the polls yet there is someone somewhere trying to take us back to the political mode. When will we focus on development and serving Kenyans?” posed the Jubilee MP.

“I want to ask Raila to sympathize with Kenyans and allow the government to work for them. We have roads that need to be fixed as well as looking at how to improve our people’s livelihoods and this issue of a referendum has no merit,” he added.

The opposition has been calling for a constitutional amendment to create more positions that will accommodate an all-inclusive government, calls that have been rejected by the Jubilee allied leaders led by the Deputy President William Ruto.
