The locals observed that Raila was being soft on moles who are threatening to disintegrate the Orange party.

The locals said Odinga needs to stamp his authority as party leader if he wants to ODM to remain strong.

Speaking on Sunday in Laini Saba, Kibera, the locals warned that ODM will collapse if Odinga remains soft on rebels.

“The future of ODM hangs in the balance if rebels and moles will be allowed to continue staying in the party,” said Seth Onyango, a bodaboda operator in Laini Saba.

Mr Onyango said that ODM top leadership needs to act authoritatively and flush out rebels.

“ODM is one of the popular parties in the country but it could easily lose its popularity if rebels and moles are entertained,” added Mr Onyango.

Stephen Owour, a car washer in Laini Saba said that the resignation of Budalangi MP as ODM secretary general show that he was not committed to the party.

“Namwamba was a fake ‘general’ who had no love for ODM,” said Ouwor.

Mr Owuor said that if Namwamba was really committed to ODM he will not have resigned.

The resignation of Namwamba as ODM secretary general and defecation of some members to other parties has left the Orange party in shambles ahead of the 2017 elections.

Despite Namwamba’s exit as ODM secretary general, ODM leader Odinga still maintains that ODM is strong.
