Deputy president William Ruto has been advised to watch out for the ongoing political deals in the country if he is keen enough with his 2022 presidential bid.
Political analyst Dr Alutalala Mukhwana on Thursday said the deals engineered by Nasa leader Raila Odinga that has since seen him close ranks with president Uhuru Kenyatta and former president William Ruto should not be taken lightly adding that the three alongside former president Mwai Kibaki share a common denominator in royalty.
"As we say, clouds are always an indicator of rain and the DP needs to be reminded that he should be wary of all the on-goings. He was not privy to the handshake between the former prime minister and the president in March. Besides, Raila and the other three leaders (Uhuru, Kibaki and Moi) have the royalty factor among them. Ruto is an outsider," he told Radio Maisha.
The recent moves by Raila that saw him reach out to Uhuru before flying to Kabarak to meet former president Moi and his son Gideon and later holding talks with former president Kibaki and his son Jimmy have fueled speculations in the country on what the Nasa leader could be up to.
Dr Mukwhana added that the silence exhibited by leaders allied to president Kenyatta over the handshake with Raila was an indication of disquiet within the ruling Jubilee coalition which he said could go up to 2022.
