National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have called upon residents of Coastal counties to be wary of Deputy President William Ruto’s incessant trips to the region ahead of the August General polls.
According to the leaders, Ruto’s endless visits to the region and his close relationship with Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya raise suspicion.
Speaking during their visit in Kwale County Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula said Ruto’s attempt to influence the political situation in this part of the nation is not something to be taken lightly.
The two leaders, who have launching scathing attacks against Jubilee leadership, said that Ruto and Mvurya have plans to seize land in regions where minerals have been discovered for their selfish gains.
The leaders, who addressed supporters in Kinango, said that the current leadership has frustrated Coast residents since it took over power, adding they Jubilee regime is frustrated for realizing that the leaders of the opposition are still moving on as a formidable team. The former vice President also argued that any of them has the ability to beat Jubilee."Any of the four NASA principals can be president. We are a team determined to liberate Kenya from Jubilee's misrule," Kalonzo said as quoted by Standard. His remarks were reiterated by Wetangula who said that Jubilee will go home on August 8."Liberty will come on August 8 when one of us becomes president which will be victory for all of us and the whole country,” he said. The Ukambani political kingpin further said that the Kwale county boss defected from ODM to defend himself."Why did Mvurya defect? Was he escaping prosecution? Be very careful with this man called Ruto. You should be very careful when he comes here to defend Mvurya," said the NASA co-principal.
