With the Central Bank of Kenya working to phase off the current currency notes to be in line with the constitution, a designer has made a proposal with a version of how the notes should appear.

In the proposed design, features that represent Kenya's unity were considered.

Tourist attractions including wild beasts and physical features were used instead of the portrait of a president as has been the norm since independence.

The fifty-shilling note has a mountain while the one-hundred-shilling one has a lion's image.

The design has also put figures of athletics sportsmen on the Sh200 note while that of Sh500 bears the image of a zebra.

On the Sh1000 note, the design has used the image of an elephant.
The question that remains is, how appropriate are the notes in terms of design and representation of national inclusivity?
