Former Miss Tourism Kisumu County Wendy Odhiambo has petitioned the county government to help facilitate the work of the reigning Miss Tourism Kisumu Christine Pete.
The former beauty queen asked the county executive for Tourism, Trade and Commerce Rose Kisia to ensure that the Reigning Miss Tourism gets a manager for her to be well acquainted with her roles and duties in the county.
“Miss Tourism Kisumu has a mandate and role which revolves around marketing her county for tourism and investment to take place in Kisumu. This can only be achieved by ensuring that she has an abled manager who will help her go through her roles as the county’s ambassador to the outside world,” she said.
Odhiambo argued that the county government ought to ensure that the county’s Miss Tourism is well groomed as this will go a long way in boosting her presentability.
She added: “This is the ambassador of the county just like the governor. The county executive for Tourism should ensure that she is well exposed by being given a chance to be present during important county tourism meetings and occasions as this will help her market Kisumu’s tourism even abroad.”
She asked Kisia to help market and improve Kisumu’s tourism sector by empowering the county’s Miss Tourism.
