According to the county Industrialization, Energy and Enterprise Development Chief Executive Johnson Awuor, the county youth should consider many options available to venture into to make their lives better.

He further added that there are many options in life which the youth can give a shot instead sitting down and complaining for government freebies which he sad will not fully satisfy their dreams.

Mr Awuor said youth should take advantage of the Youth Funds which the government introduced nearly three years to better the lives of the Kenyan youths saying only very few youth groups have embraced the use of those funds saying that is the only source of business funding that the youth can easily access considering it doesn't require security.

"We urge our youth to embrace the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship as the only way to better their livelihoods more so at a time when the country is experiencing many cases of massive youth unemployment," he said on Thursday.

"Let our youth utilize the available Youth Fund and the Uwezo Funds to make their lives better instead of perennially complaining of unemployment."

The Enterprise Development boss said the county government of Kisumu is committed to upgrading the lives of the youth in the area.

He said the county government will in future consider giving the youth in the area interest free-loans in a bid to building youth enterprise in the region.
