Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka has urged law enforcers to beef up security in the constituency decrying high cases of crime.

Addressing the press at his office on Sunday, the MP complained that cases of insecurity have gone up in the past three weeks.

He said that the county and the national government have a responsibility to guarantee safety of residents.

“The Machakos county and the national government should move in with speed and guarantee security of residents,” he said.

Musyoka observed that he has received several complaints from residents in regards to deteriorating security.

The MP said that security of residents should be taken with the seriousness it deserves adding that police must commit to their work.

Musyoka said that there is need for more police officers to be deployed to the constituency to curb crime.

He stated that crime is a threat to socio-economic development adding that criminals must be kept at bay if development is to be realised in the area.
