Security across the country ahead of the August 8 Eldas MP Aden Keynan has asked the national government to enhance general election.

In an interview with the Star, the MP said that the government has the responsibility to guarantee the county’s security before, during and after the August 8 polls.

He asked Inspector general of police to deploy enough security officers especially   in areas considered as violence hot spots.

The MP said that voters will come out in large numbers if their safety is guaranteed.

“The Inspector General of Police and other state security agencies must guarantee safety of each and every citizen before, during and after the August 8 general election,” he said as quoted by the Star.

The MP asked Kenyans to support security mechanisms being put in place ahead of the polls.

He supported the curfew imposed on Garissa, Tana River and Lamu counties saying it will help cur terror related attacks.

He warned politicians against politicizing security and instead allow the government to do its work.

Meanwhile, the MP wants stern action taken against politicians inciting for violence.

He asked the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and other relevant agencies to crack the whip on hate-mongers who are bend on causing violence as the country heads to the August 8 polls.
