Kiabonyoru ward MCA James Isabwengi wants the police in Nyamira County to beef up security in Nyamira North and Borabu regions after he was attacked on Tuesday by unknown people on his way home.
The MCA, however, managed to escape from the attackers, but his car was smashed.
Isabwengi now wants the police to increase their patrols of the area to prevent more residents from falling in the hands of criminals.
“I call upon the Nyamira County Commissioner Joseph Rotich to make sure police officers tighten security in Nyamira North and Borabu because those are areas most affected,” James Isabwengi told journalists.
“I was attacked on Tuesday and my car was smashed but I managed to escape.Let the police improve security in Nyamira please,” Isabwengi added.
His sentiments were echoed by colleagues Callen Atuya (Bokeira ward) and his Fred Omaywo ( Mawagwa ) who said police should ensure the safety of residents.
