Supporters of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party on Wednesday were forced to flee after a swarm of bees descended on them at Wundanyi stage, Taita Taveta County. The insects stuck when the ruling party leaders were about to start the rally to drum up support for the reelection of President Kenyatta in the October 26 repeat poll. The event was attended by Taita MP Naomi Shaban and Women Representative Lydia Haika and several parliamentary and county assembly losers in the last election. However, the bees disappeared shortly after prayers which were led by Peter Mwakio."This is the work of the devil. Satan wanted to stop us from campaigning for our leader President Kenyatta," said Mwakio, who lost Wusi-Kishamba Ward seat in August polls. The incident comes weeks after a swarm of bees attacked police and protesters outside the Supreme Court during the reading of the full verdict of the presidential election petition.
