They are usually with small jugs with some coins inside. They shake the coins in the jugs and cups to produce a sound that will attract people passing to give them Sh10 or 20. Many people have come out with their disabled relatives, children and friends to the streets in Kisii to beg for a living.

The beggars often pretend to be poor and disabled. Some could be seen very dirty crawling down with dust and muddy all over in order the residents to sympathise with them to give them some cash.

Some of the beggars come from rich family only that they seem not to be getting the support from their family members something that forces them to be on the streets to beg.

At some point it has been noted that some beggars are not really disabled, some pretend to be disabled due to laziness and impose disability in order to get cash from residents who sympathises with them.

These beggars earn more than those who give them. From the morning to late hours in the evening, they are in the streets. One could end the day with more than Sh1,000 which those who gives them takes 1 to 2 days to make.
