Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has dismissed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's claims that he owes City Hall monies amounting to Sh58 million.
Last week, City Hall revealed that it was in the process to cover the money, which was paid to the MP's firm after defending the county in a case that had been filed by Ferdinand Waititu.
In an interview, Momanyi said, Sonko should familiarize himself how law firms work before going wild on him.
"We have a way of operating as lawyers and that is why they were to pay me Sh800,000. In fact, he should instead clear the debt.
"It is wrong to claim that I was paid Sh60 million fraudulently. It was part of the deal and there is nothing we are surrendering," he added.
Initially, it has been established, City Hall was supposed to pay Momanyi Sh1.1 billion before narrowing the deal to Sh800,000.
