The government has reshuffled county and regional commissioners across the country as it seeks to improve service delivery.

The changes were announced by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i who said county and regional commissioners will be redeployed following consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“In the interest of enhancing service delivery and strengthening security, I have made the following deployments and transfers after consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta,” Mr Matiangi said.

Coast Regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has been nominated to be the principal secretary of Devolution.

Mr Marwa will be replaced by Nairobi Regional Commissioner Benard Leparmarai who has been deployed to be the Coast regional coordinator.

William Kang’ethe Thuku from Kakamega is the new regional commissioner in Nairobi while Mr Mongo Chimbwaga has been moved from Western region to replace Wanyama Musiambo in Rift Valley who was promoted to be the deputy head of public service.

Athi River deputy commissioner George Omo Ding has been promoted as Bomet County commissioner.

Nyanza regional coordinator Wilson Njenga has been transferred to Central while Eastern regional coordinator Wycliffe Ogallo has been retained in his position.
