Sports betting firm, Betika, has integrated M-Pesa mobile payment into its platform.
The firm's management said the move seeks to make it easier for users to place their bets.
The integration means customers can now deposit or withdraw from its system without exiting the betting platform.
Previously, users had to confirm their balance first, leave the platform and go to the Safaricom toolkit to access the M-Pesa payment option.
Betika brand manager Patricia Wachira said this was part of the company's strategy to enhance its customer experience.
“The new M-Pesa payment solution allows users on our mobile, USSD and online platforms to withdraw and deposit into their betting accounts without leaving the platform, a first in the betting category,” she said.
The solution, which is available on both android and IOS systems, will be especially useful given that 90 per cent of Betika’s two million customers already use M-Pesa for their betting transactions.
"This has led to repeat customers who have experienced a seamless user experience from deposit, searching and selecting matches and placing bets,” Wachira added.
Since its launch in 2016, the locally-owned sports betting firm, Betika has contributed immensely in driving up mobile money transactions.
