The Kenya Prisons Service (KPS) has cautioned the public against conmen going around to lie they are recruiting warders.
According to Commissioner General of Prisons Isaiah Osugo, there is no recruitment process currently taking place but there are people fleecing people with information he termed fake and false.
"There is no recruitment so far for now. These are fake reports being circulated by cons,” he said.
He added that some people have even gone to their headquarters to make a follow-up on the same.
Osugo further disclosed that the alleged advert in circulation calling people for recruitment is an old one that conmen have used from 2015.
Police have been asked to investigate those behind the reports, he said.
