The National Police Service has warned Kenyans to beware of fraudsters carrying fake recruitment exercises on behalf of the service.

through their social media accounts, NPS made it clear that they have not announced any police recruitment dates.

The body clarified that when recruiting, the exercise is made public.

The service had received reports of fraudsters who are extorting money from innocent Kenyans with the help of helping them secure a position of employment in the Service. 

 "The National Police Service wishes to inform the general public that we have not announced any Police recruitment dates. When recruiting, we publicize the exercise via major dailies, radio stations, television and also share the same information on our website and social media accounts/pages," the notice read.

"However, we have received reports of fraudsters targeting innocent members of the public and extorting money from them in the name of helping them secure employment in the service. We wish to caution the public that we have not announced any recruitment dates and no fee is required for one to be recruited into the service. Appropriate action will be taken to ensure that the culprits are brought to book."
