Nakuru County commissioner Mohammed Birik has asked residents to be cautious of conmen allegedly promising to sell land they do not have.
Birik said that they have received several complaints from members of the public of the alleged con activities.
He asked residents to report any suspicious people promising land to security officials, adding that investigations have been launched into the matter.
“I want to ask residents to be careful when transacting land deals to curb cases of being duped,” he said.
The commissioner said that the conmen are offering parcels of land at cheap prices and demanding Sh500 for registration.
Birik asked residents to thoroughly scrutinise individuals or companies selling land before making any transactions.
The commissioner added that they will not desist to deal with any person or groups engaging in criminal activities.
