Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has advised the opposition to establish solid measures to tame Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general elections presidential contest.
Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday, Aladwa warned opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, who is seemingly having hidden plans for the race, against downplaying Ruto.
He termed the Deputy President as an able leader who will battle it out with anyone to realize his presidential ambition, advising the former Premier to consider incapacitating him should he be eyeing or planning to back another person for the post.
''Deputy President William Ruto is not to be downplayed in any way. We have worked together in the opposition in the past and I can testify that he is a very determined individual who will overcome any hurdle standing between him and his goals,'' said Aladwa.
''He will obviously be a problem in the 2022 presidential election as a result of his remarkable mobilization capacity and should be tamed as early as now,'' he added.
Odinga has since embarked on a reconciliation campaign, a move that has widely been viewed as a political strategy ahead of 2022.
Ruto, on the other hand, has since announced his bid and is likely to vie on the ruling Jubilee Party ticket.
