A middle-aged man from Kwale location in Matungulu was on Monday arraigned in Kangundo Magistrate court after he was arrested with bhang.

The suspect known as Joseph Mungai Njogu was on Monday arraigned before resident Magistrate Derrias Orimba for being in possession of 102 stones of bhang.

However, Joseph denied the charges. The suspect is said to have been arrested by police in Kwale area during a crackdown on June 17 2016. 

"The person before this court, according to the law can only be released on a bond of Sh200,000 and a surety of the same amount, " said Orimba.

The case will be mentioned again on July 5 and determined on July 22.
