A 25-year-old man in Kanduyi constituency left residents in shock after he killed his father and mother before pouncing on a neighbour with a machete.

The man, who is said to be a notorious bhang smoker, quarreled with his mother whom he hit with a blunt object and threw her in a ditch where she breathed her last.

He then attacked his father badly. The father died while being rushed to hospital.

When a neighbour responded to alarm in the homestead, he rushed for a machete and slashed him to death.

Angry resident descended on him and lynched him.

Neighbours said his parents had noted behaviour change and counselled him.

“His parents had noticed strange behaviour in him and had called him on Sunday for counseling where he admitted to have been using bhang,” a neighbour said.

The bodies of the deceased are lying at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary.
