Bidco has launched a new detergent factory in Thika in a bid to stamp its control on the market.
The new firm, which is expected to produce 3000 tonnes in its initial stages, is expected to cost of Sh.2 billion.
The construction of the firm comes at a time when the consumer manufacturer is striving to meet the increased demand for its products across the market.
The new company will increase its revenue as its fights to reach the billion dollar mark in terms of revenue.
According to Bidco Africa chief executive, Thiagarajan Ramamurthy, the facility will be computer controlled to ease and increase production upon completion.
Bidco also launched a new product, Msafi, which will increase its annual revenue.
Early this year, Bidco chairman, Vimal Shah, said that the firm has opted to diversify its products to increase revenue from Sh40 billion to Sh100 billion annually.
Under the new plan, the company is also expected to construct four new factories built at the new Bidco Industrial Park in Ruiru.
