Bidco oil refinery today has announced its support for the Thika Education Trust Fund by pledging Kshs. 1.5million for education of the needy students in Thika constituency.
During the handover at Thika town on Friday, the CEO Vimal Shah through the speech read by his personal assistant Abubakar Kassim, he has emphasized on importance of education as a key to the national development.
“Investing in our people especially the youth is an insurance of our future,” Vimal said. He added that, “as an organization whose core principal is inclusive growth and sustainability, Bidco has continually worked towards improving the lives of Kenyans towards the spectrum of its value stream.”
Vimal Shah said that Thika Education Trust Fund is a dream comes true for many needy students hungering for education and empowerment in Thika town.
Thika Education Trust Fund was initiated by Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a to supplement the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation that was not sufficient to satisfy the numerous requests for deserving students who need an education.
Alice Ng’ang’a has however hailed the company for the act of generosity to the needy students who had no hope in schooling due to lack of school fees.
“I want to extend my gratitude to the CEO Vimal Shah for her generosity towards ensuring Thika students are learned.” Said Ng’ang’a
She said that she is determined to work with any well wishers to promote education in her constituency and pledges to fulfill her manifesto which she set during the campaign period.
The legislator has however requested the residents to apply for both CDF which has arrived and needy students should apply for the same.
