Hon. Farah bemoaned the brutal treatment that he was subjected to at the airport.

''What happened at the JKIA was absolutely wrong. They clearly violated his rights including the Emirates airline and he should sue them. Miguna was well within his rights not to agree to be forced to sign the documents he is being forced to sign,'' Farah Maalim said.

The Garissa County residents have also weighed in on the unfolding debacle, largely calling on authorities to set him free and respect his rights.

''He should be released immediately. Why are they still holding him yet the court ordered that he be released?'' Abdirahaman Sumo, a resident says.

''Miguna is a citizen of Kenya. Why are they still making the argument that he is undocumented? We all know who Miguna is,'' Fatuma Salo says.

A court of law ordered yesterday that Miguna should be released and presented in court today.
