(Photo/nation.co.ke)Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua wants his Maendelo Chap Chap (MCC) party to be part of electoral reforms agenda being pushed by the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.Governor Mutua notes the reforms agenda cannot be between two people ( president Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila) since it involves serious issues facing the country's electoral system management.Speaking to journalists at party offices in Lavington, Nairobi on Saturday, the governor said that NASA reforms agenda is justifiable since there are gaps in the election preparations and management that not only affects the presidential election but other seats. "We as Maendelo Chap Chap party are not against NASA's push for electoral reforms so long as it is done with the confines of the constitution and involves all stakeholders," he said.Mutua asked NASA to include other players including the church in its push for reforms.He said that the country's future democracy lies in its ability to hold a free, fair and credible election that respects the wish of the people.Mutua asked president Uhuru Kenyatta to give a second thought on NASA's push and create room for reforms dialogue.

He said dialogue will heal the country that is divided on tribal grounds.The Machakos governor, however, warned the opposition against inciting and using violence threat's to push its agenda.He said that dialogue can only take place in a peaceful environment.Mutua urged Kenyans not to fall for leaders who are calling for mass protests and violence to push their agenda.NASA is pushing for electoral reforms and plans to swear in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as the people's president and deputy respectively.The swearing-in that is set for January 30 is however in limbo as claims emerge that some principals are against it.The government has termed the planned swearing-in highly treasonous even as pressure mounts on NASA to drop the idea and embrace dialogue.NASA top leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula will on Monday meet to discuss key issues among them the planned swearing-in.
