[Photo: allafrica.com]Former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba and former Constitution Implementation Committee (CIC) chairman Charles Nyachae are among some of the big names being floated by Jubilee party for possible nomination to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).Jubilee is said to be keen to reward election losers with nominations to the Arusha-based assembly as another round of lobbying kicks off.The Tuesday Star reports that majority of those angling for the nine slots available for Kenya at the regional Parliament, are big guns who lost in the August 8 General Election. According to the paper, Jubilee deliberately put roadblocks at the tail-end of the 11th Parliament to delay the election of EALA members so that it could reward losers. It is said that Jubilee will exploit the EALA nominations by dishing out rewards to regions that overwhelmingly voted for the President’s party in August 8 polls. The President Uhuru Kenyatta's party, which is entitled to five slots, is even said to be toying with the idea of overhauling the previous list of 15 nominees and instead table the exact names as ODM and Wiper did."We are consulting widely on this matter, but we shall give communication in due time once the next Parliament is inaugurated this Thursday,” a top Jubilee official aware of the developments said told the Star on Monday.
