Veteran politican Kenneth Matiba is happy man once again in his old age after the Courts of the land handed him a big financial boost after years of suffering political injustice.

Matiba who is one of the  oldest politicians in the country and at one point contested the presidency but failed has been awarded Sh504 million as compensation over his detention during the Moi era.

The High Courts said Matiba's rights for freedom from torture were violated hence the hefty package.

Despite the atrocities committed under the Moi era it is still the taxpayer who will carry the burden of paying the millions.
