Kikuyu Ward Representative Binary Wainaina wants the national and county governments to beef up security in the area and put in place strategies that will guarantee safety.
Speaking when he met ward community policing coordinators on Wednesday at his office, Wainaina said that the security of residents must be taken seriously.
He said that development will not be realised if the security of citizens, businessmen and investors is not guaranteed.
The ward rep urged the government to pull out all its resources and fight criminal elements across the country. He said the government has the powers and the required resources to fight criminal elements.
“Time has come for our government to use its resources effectively and deal with the enemy,” he said.
The MCA said that persistent terror threats are a disaster to the country’s economic growth.
Wainaina, at the same time, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support the police in the fight against terrorism and general crime.
