Bini, on Tuesday, said that the process was not transparent and that the majority of Kadhis who were appointed belonged to one tribe.

"I call upon the Chief Justice to cancel the whole process of appointing Kadhis and start it afresh. Those appointed should reflect the constitution of the whole country and not just one tribe," he said.

"Of the twenty Kadhis who were appointed, eleven of them come from one tribe. As a Muslim leader, I don't approve of that since it is tribalistic," he added.

He urged political leaders to provide an environment that will ensure there is no interference in the process of the appointment of the Kadhis if the Chief Justice heeds his call.

"I urge the Chief Justice not to approve their appointment and call for  a fresh process for justice to prevail," he added.
