Uasin Gishu chairman of Imams and Muslim Preachers has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Opposition to hold discussions and come up with a permanent solution to the IEBC stalemate.
Speaking in his office on Saturday, Abubakar Bini said it will be okay if the two leaders sit and seek for the way forward instead of blaming each other.
"As Muslim leaders we have come to a conclusion that the only remedy to the IEBC issue is not through legal but political means, both leaders should come together and look for the solution," he said.
He said the issue should be settled fast before 2017 general election.
"If politicians both from government and Opposition will not resolve the issues, Kenya will witness another 2007 post-election violence because they will doubt credibility of the election results," he said.
He also condemned the anti-IEBC protests by Cord leaders.
