A 42-year-old man, who allegedly defiled his seven-year-old daughter, was on Monday arraigned before a Thika court charged with incest.
Appearing before Thika Chief Magistrate Esther Mburu, the accused, Stephen Kahuha was charged that on diverse dates between January 1 2015 and February 6 this year at Kwihoka village in Ruiru District of Kiambu County, he defiled his daughter and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.
He pleaded not guilty and was released on Sh800,000 shillings bond with a surety of a similar amount.
Prosecuting Inspector Stella Wambua told the court how the accused, who is the biological father of the standard one child used to pick the girl from her paternal grandparents house, where she lived, and could commit the heinous act throughout the night then returned the innocent child back in the morning with a stern warning that if she dared tell anybody about the ordeal he would kill her.
The child was left under the care of her paternal grandparents after the parents separated.
On January 6 2015, the accused went for the child as usual and took her to his house, but the child screamed attracting the attention of her grandmother who responded swiftly and found her son defiling the girl.
She raised alarm but the man managed to escape and went into hiding, but was later apprehended in Parklands in Nairobi, where he had gone into hiding and charges preferred against him.
He pleaded not guilty and the hearing date fixed for May 2 this year.
