Speaking during the Nyumba Kumi evaluation meeting in Nakuru, Birik said that all chiefs and their assistants will be required to keep data of those visiting their areas in order to weed out possible criminals.

“Apart from the normal duties of maintaining law and order, administrators will be required to ensure the fight against illicit brews continues,” said Birik.

He noted that although the county has remained calm, few cases of cattle rustling have been reported in Molo and Kuresoi, a vice he said should be stopped immediately.

Birik also warned that lazy government officers will face necessary disciplinary action. He also urged members of the public to volunteer critical security information to the police in case of any incidents.
